Rain, sleet, snow, frost and the occasional burst of sunshine have not stopped our intrepid team of Conservative candidates and supporters in Bedworth from getting out on the streets across, Bedworth, Exhall, Ash Green and Keresley as they seek to win Council seats at the Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council elections taking place on Thursday 3rd May 2015.
After Seb Gran won the Slough Ward Borough Council seat in 2016 followed by winning three out of four County Council seats in the town in 2017, hopes are high that the Conservatives can win the majority of the seats up for election in 2018. The team's morale is high and they've been out campaigning in all weather, meeting voters on the doorsteps to listen to their concerns, organising regular community litter picks and delivering leaflets.
High on the list of local issues is Labour's Borough Plan, which has united voters across the town in opposition to the number of houses Labour wants to see built, the poor choice of locations, including sensitive greenbelt and flood plain sites, and lack of supporting infrastructure. Local Conservatives in Bedworth alongside MP Craig Tracey have supported people who are badly affected by Labour's plans and have helped rally public opposition to the Borough Plan. Other key issues are the poor state and decline of Bedworth town centre, high Council car parking charges and the continuing waste of money at the Council under Labour.
